In the first Watermark performance we marked the line with birdseed- a temporary and edible mark-making material. |
Watermark Project is a series of events and actions in which we visualize, experience, and mark the potential future Seattle waterfront- a shoreline created when applying a 20 foot sea level rise due to global warming to the current topography. The project is a meditation and a demonstration on the need for action locally, nationally, and globally to stem the tide of climate change. It is also a chance to become more intimately connected with the terrain of Seattle. For each performance, participants walk the line of the future shoreline, sometimes marking it with different materials such as seeds or water. Project website: www.watermarkseattle.org |
