Surrogate Mountain

A Seattle-specific public performance: a miniature version of Mt. Rainier, the icon which defines the city's distant horizon, travels around the city on wheels, pulled on a leash. The mountain is re-created at a scale of 1:30000 (1 inch=2500 feet).

Public performances occur throughout the spring and summer of 2006. Gallery visitors and volunteers are invited to take the mountain for a walk. The mountain is available for adoption.
